TecnoConverting Engineering presents its innovative TecnoGrabber® solutions at the SmartCity Expo World Congress in Barcelona to tackle marine pollution and support the blue economy.
The Spanish HUB organized a key session at the SmartCity Expo World Congress in Barcelona under the theme “Blue Solutions for Ports to Face Plastic Pollution”. During this session, which is part of the BlueMissionMed project, TecnoConverting Engineering introduced its new waste retention systems, TecnoGrabber®, as innovative solutions to reduce pollution in rivers and seas by capturing plastics and solid waste in overflow chambers during intense rainfall.
This initiative is part of the BlueMissionMed project, which seeks to promote the blue economy in the Mediterranean and fight marine pollution.
The session was introduced by Araceli Martín from CSIC and moderated by Ignasi Mateo of MedWaves. This event brought together innovators, companies, and key players in the blue economy of the Mediterranean, providing a space to showcase pioneering solutions against marine pollution and to encourage networking opportunities between solution providers, companies, investors, and other interested parties looking to adopt these initiatives.
During the event, TecnoConverting shared the stage with other organizations presenting their innovative proposals:
- Save the Med Foundation: Presented the HAPI Tool, which offers alternatives to single-use plastics in the HORECA sector, promoting sustainable practices.
- POTS.eco: Showcased its reusable packaging, an eco-friendly solution for reducing waste across various sectors.
- SEAQUAL INITIATIVE: Demonstrated its system for recovering ocean plastics, turning waste into high-quality products through circular economy processes.
- SUMBOX WORLDWIDE, S.L.: Introduced its packaging solution to reduce plastic use in food transport, especially in extreme conditions such as the shipping of fish and seafood.
TecnoConverting Engineering extends its thanks to CSIC, MedWaves, and BlueMissionMed for their organization and collaboration, as well as to all participants for their commitment to a more sustainable world. We are proud to be part of this community working to reduce marine pollution and protect our environment.
